(This report was from Jim Herbert, leader for this trip.)

Thirteen people were there for the bird trip to Seaside Farm. It was overcast but I think the temperatures got well into the 40's and only light breezes.

Here are the species we saw:

Black capped Chickadee
Black-billed Magpie
Common Loon
Horned Grebe
Common Goldeneye
Northern Shrike
Pine Siskin [large flock]
Common Redpoll [large flock]
Downy Woodpecker
Brown Creeper
Greater Scaup
Black Scoter
White-winged Scoter
Dark-eyes Junco
Mew Gull
Common Raven
Bald Eagle

We had hoped to see some sparrows, but there was little feeder activity. (Speculation on my part that the Northern Shrike might have been responsible for the lack of sparrows? I wasn't there so just sayin'.)

It was A Great Day to Bird! As we Kachemak Bay Birders are known to say!
