Fritz Creek Birding: 6-10-18
A gorgeous morning for birding! Dale Chorman, Gary Lyon, Jim Herbert and I birded on private land near the Fritz Creek Store and found WESTERN WOOD-PEWEES apparently collecting some nesting material (circumstantial evidence here, once with a feather in her bill). We got good, close photos and all the while there was at least one other pewee calling in the distance. Over an hour was spent focusing on the pewees and enjoying the sounds and sights of many other species all around!
We also birded up the Fritz Creek Road where we found the OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER and possibly heard an ALDER FLYCATCHER, saw the Goshawk and found many of the warblers and sparrows again.
Birding doesn't get much better than this. It was indeed a Great Day to Bird!!
