Wynn Nature Center Bird Walk: 6-30-18

Postby lani » Sat Jun 30, 2018 8:13 pm

Great bird walk this morning at the Wynn Nature Center. Lovely, sunny morning with no rain!

Good songs and interesting puzzles for a few. We heard an Orange-crowned Warbler with an very unusual song, but saw it and that's what it was. And identified the wren from its call which I'd never managed before...

WILSON'S SNIPE
ALDER FLYCATCHER
GRAY JAY
BOREAL CHICKADEE
PACIFIC WREN
HERMIT THRUSH
VARIED THRUSH
AMERICAN ROBIN
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER
DARK-EYED JUNCO
SAVANNAH SPARROW
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW

There are guided birding walks at the Wynn every Saturday and Wednesday mornings starting at 8:00 am. A good opportunity for birding and some fantastic flowers also right now!
