Out for an afternoon walk on the Spit, not actually birding. Many, many ducks in Mud Bay but didn't have the scope with us. Saw a YELLOWLEGS fly over from Mud Bay to Mariner Lagoon and 3 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS on the beach by Frosty Bear.

We've been seeing large groups of SANDHILL CRANES on the beach (east of Miller's Landing), one group of 70+. This is the usual pattern--feeding on the beach in the weeks before they leave to go south.
