Dave Erickson, Max Rabinowitz and I had a Pacific Golden Plover on the Homer Spit between the skating rink and the boat junkyard today, November 5. Max got some excellent photos which he said he will post on ebird.

A November 3rd trip to Homer included two AMERICAN COOTS, seven LESSER SCAUP, one RING-NECKED DUCK, 9 lingering NORTHERN SHOVELER and one GREEN-WINGED TEAL all on Beluga Lake, six+ EURASIAN WIGEON drakes in Mud Bay, at least one YELLOW-BILLED LOON among the many Common and Pacific Loons, two brilliant RING-NECKED PHEASANTS roosters on Jim Herbert' property, 1000 ROCK SANDPIPER at the northeast corner of the Boat Harbor, an ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD along Waddell Street in spruce trees, 200 AMERICAN ROBIN at Seaside Farms, 7 RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET widespread, 45 GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCH on the Spit (including at least two tephrocotis individuals from the interior), an AMERICAN TREE SPARROW along Beluga Lake at Landings Street, and PACIFIC WREN everywhere.
