This week Dale Chorman reported hearing a BOREAL OWL and a NORTHERN SAW-WHET at his place on Fernwood, the same night.

I heard a 3rd hand report of a possible juv. SNOWY OWL out mid-spit several days ago and then I got a report on Thursday from Judith James that she'd seen an owl mid-spit also. She only got a quick look while driving...said it was tanish, tops of wings were darkish with a light patch back from primary tips; the underside was tan. KBB has a birding trip out there Saturday morning and maybe they'll spot it, or them...?

I had a calling Northern Saw-whet Owl last night, March 24, at 10:00PM. In my back yard at East Skyline Drive.

I am adding; I continue to hear the lone Saw-whet for the three following nights from March 24. I have a nest box that I hope gets used this year. We often get Barrow's Goldeneye in the same nest box.
